Schools Infrastructure NSW is investigating innovative integrated models of school development to access desirable land holdings and deliver new urban schools placed at the heart of communities.
Inner East High School is a proposal to include a new 1,320 student public secondary school at Edgecliff Centre, NSW redevelopment.
Edgecliff Centre is the largest potential site for redevelopment and the proposal swaps the commercial office area provision for the site with a new education precinct to address a soft commercial market and community demand for a new public school.
The proposal was completed in collaboration with MP for Wentworth, Allegra Spender and funded by the Australian Institute of Architects David Lindner Prize.

The site offers unique planning opportunities, leveraging nearby parks, public transport, and a large green roof. In return, the school can provide community access to the gymnasium, library, auditorium, and discovery spaces on lower building levels, enhancing Edgecliff’s civic quality and destination appeal.
Together, these features support successful schooling outcomes and create a celebrated institution for current and future generations.
The scheme’s ambition, at its core, prioritises our youngest members of society at the forefront of city-making.
